I grew up in a non-Christian, military home in North Carolina and went to church very rarely. I came to Christ at age 21 while following the Grateful Dead cross country. Someone gave me a Bible to read, and in the pages of scripture, I met the Lord Jesus, who convicted me of my sins, and comforted me with his gospel. This began the hard trail of learning how to read and live what the Bible teaches. After serving as a youth pastor and worship leader in an Evangelical church, I went to Bible college. I have two undergraduate degrees, one of which is in Biblical Studies fromSoutheastern Bible College. I earned my Master of Divinity (with a counseling minor) from Westminster Theological Seminary in California and a ThM degree in church history from Reformed Theological Seminary in Orlando. I have been a minister in the OPC for eight years, and hope to be a pastor of for quite a while! God has given me a wonderful wife, Heather. We have been married for over twelve years. We have two small children, Kirra Ruth and Carl Vos. |

Educated at Covenant College,
Lookout Mountain, GA, I went to Covenant Theological Seminary in St
Louis, MO. Upon graduation I was ordained in the RPCES but moved into
the PCA as the Youth Pastor of the Inverness PCA in Baltimore, MD.
Soon, however, I was back in the RPCES serving various
congregatons. In 1987 I became a Chaplin in the US Navy, where I
served fulltime until becoming a reservist in 1996. When I became
a reservist, accepted the call of the Pilgrim OPC in Raliegh NC. My children, Grant, Melissa, Courtney and Ben are beginning to start families and serve the Lord in various occupations. Soon my wife, Sharon, and I will be having to deal with the empty nest which undoubtedly will provide us with new challenges. |
